Santo Domingo.– An alleged Italian drug trafficker, presumably the head of a network that smuggled cocaine from South America, was arrested by the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) at the Las Americas International Airport.Dante Tagliaventi, aka Danilo, was returned to Antigua and Barbuda, but first he will be tried in Puerto Rico, where he is accused of conspiracy to smuggle drugs into the United States, according to authorities.

Free bus service on election day, OMSA director said
Santo Domingo.– Tomorrow Sunday the buses of the Metropolitan Bus Service Office (OMSA) will run for free, due to the election day, the Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (Opret) announced on Friday.According to OMSA director Ignacio Ditrén, 200 buses will be in service around the country to move people within metropolitan areas who need to be transported during the day. Transport Reform Office (Opret) assistant director Leonel Carrasco revealed that the Santo Domingo Metro will also operate for free on Line 1 and Line 2. However, Line 2 is only available between stations on the avenues Gregorio Luperon and Maximo Gomez.
